He served on the university’s Board of Trustees and is a past president of the University of Miami Citizens Board, a select group of business and civic leaders who support the university’s philanthropic efforts and promote UM programs. Brodie has also served as a member of the law school’s Visiting Committee.

“Steve is not just a nationally recognized attorney and community leader, but also a loyal and dedicated alumnus of the University of Miami and the School of Law,” said Harout J. Samra, Vice President of Activities and Homecoming Chairman of the Law Alumni Association. “We are proud to recognize him for his professionalism, integrity, and exemplary dedication to the ‘U.’ We are fortunate for his leadership and continued service.”

At Carlton Fields, Brodie co-chairs the firm’s national Property & Casualty Insurance practice and Insurance industry groups. His clients include Fortune 100 companies, major insurers, financial services companies, telecommunications firms, institutional lenders, and developers.

The Homecoming Golf Tournament will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30 at International Links Melreese Country Club. Proceeds benefit the law school’s Paul & Terrance Dee Memorial Endowed Scholarship, which is awarded annually with preference given to students who have an interest in sports law. Alongside Brodie, this year’s tournament will recognize sports honoree Gregory Mark, a former UM football player and defensive line coach.
