Carlton Fields Recognized at The Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section Awards

Carlton Fields Shareholder Joseph H. Lang Jr. is the recipient of The Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section 2019 John R. Hamilton Pro Bono Award. Lang, who co-chairs the firm's Pro Bono Committee, was recognized at a June 27 ceremony in Boca Raton for embodying the spirit of service in the practice of law. The firm’s Appellate Practice and Trial Support Co-Chair Sylvia H. Walbolt nominated Lang, who dedicates hundreds of hours a year to pro bono service. He has extensive experience representing clients before and at trial on legal issues, motions practice, preservation of error, and jury instructions, and then throughout the appellate process.

The Appellate Practice Section also recognized the late Thomas E. Warner, a Carlton Fields shareholder who also served as Florida's first solicitor general. Warner was honored posthumously with the James C. Adkins Award for his exemplary contributions in the field of appellate practice.
