Carlton Fields Joins Law Firm Antiracism Alliance

Carlton Fields is pleased to announce its participation in the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance (LFAA), a new, nationwide group of now more than 200 law firms dedicated to furthering the pursuit of equal justice in the law.  

The coalition was created after recent events reaffirmed the need for a more collaborative effort between the private bar and legal services organizations on racial inequality and injustice initiatives.

The alliance aims to amplify the voices of communities and individuals oppressed by racism, better use of the law as a vehicle for change that benefits communities of color, and promote racial equity in the law. Its charter calls for firms to commit to coordinated pro bono projects; implement legislative and regulatory advocacy strategies to change an inventory of laws, rules, and policies; and initiate high-impact litigation. 

“We can and must talk about law reform, government programs, legislation, and other means to address [racial] injustice. Some of us can, should, and will contribute to institutional reform. We have been engaged in this as a law firm, and we have rededicated ourselves to continuing to do our part,” said President and CEO Gary L. Sasso in a recent statement.
