Washington, D.C.Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that it has expanded its Washington, D.C. office and national Real Estate and Commercial Finance Practice with the addition of attorney Paul E. Kisselburg. He joins the firm’s robust team of attorneys with deep experience representing mortgage lenders and borrowers on U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)/Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac financing products.

Kisselburg’s practice focuses on the financing of multifamily and senior housing facilities. He represents lenders and borrowers in agency-related financing, with a particular emphasis on HUD, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac. Kisselburg has closed HUD-insured transactions in more than 30 states and has extensive experience in HUD-insured health care financing.

“Our team has known and worked with Paul for years, and his wealth of experience makes him a strong addition to our already deep bench of attorneys focused on agency lending,” said Washington, D.C. Shareholder Gina A. Hough, who co-leads Carlton Fields’ Agency and HUD/FHA-Insured Lending Practice. “In particular, his extensive background in HUD matters is a tremendous asset to our clients.”

Kisselburg shared, “Carlton Fields gives my practice a national platform, and I am thrilled to be surrounded by a team of such skilled and collegial attorneys and staff in my practice area.”

Added Washington, D.C. Office Managing Shareholder Richard T. Choi, “Paul is a talented lawyer who augments the strategic growth of the Washington D.C. office, particularly in our real estate, commercial finance, and construction capabilities. He is one of 11 new attorneys the office has welcomed in the past 12 months.”

Carlton Fields’ Washington, D.C. office boasts more than 30 lawyers who handle a range of litigation, regulatory, and transactional work, with a particular focus on insurance, real estate, construction, government contracts, health care, white collar crime and government investigations, and securities products and markets.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Kisselburg was an air traffic controller for 22 years. He brings his attention to detail and problem-solving skills to help clients navigate the complex requirements characteristic of agency financing.
