Carlton Fields’ C. Scott Jenkins Named Interim Executive Director of the Florida Financial Services Association
Tallahassee, Fla. – Carlton Fields Senior Government Consultant C. Scott Jenkins was named the interim executive director of the Florida Financial Services Association, effective August 1, 2020.
The Florida Financial Services Association (FFSA) is dedicated to improving the understanding of non-bank, consumer credit and how it can increase individual financial capability and drive prosperity in the state of Florida. Jenkins succeeds the leadership of the late Joseph Schuler.
Jenkins is a former chief lobbyist in the financial services industry, where he developed key relationships with policymakers and stakeholders, analyzed and drafted legislation, and advocated for his clients before state and local legislative and regulatory officials, as well as national legislative associations.
At Carlton Fields, Jenkins concentrates on government relations lobbying, with a particular focus on policy analysis and its impact on targeting parties. He represents a wide variety of clients before state and local governments and helps clients in all industries navigate the legislative process, including lobbying, campaign and message management, and legislative committee operations. His extensive experience working with industry and business professionals bolsters his understanding of large and small businesses, their concerns, and their interests — as well as the legislative and regulatory environments in which they must navigate — allowing him to advocate effectively on their behalf.
Jenkins received his IOM Certification in Association Management from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Institute for Organization Management, his M.S. from Florida State University, and his B.A. from Clemson University.
