Edith G. Osman Receives Greater Miami Jewish Federation Community Service AwardMiami, Fla. – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Miami attorney Edith G. Osman is a recipient of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s 2021 Community Service Award. She was recognized at the organization’s 36th annual judicial reception on May 5.

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Community Service Award is conferred to an individual who has championed important issues, demonstrated significant leadership in service to society, and exhibited wisdom and compassion that has made a real difference in the judicial or legal system and community.

Osman is involved and serves on the boards of many civic and charitable organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League, Florida’s Children First, the Holocaust Memorial, Temple Beth Am, and the University of Miami Law Alumni Association.

Osman is also active in leading legal organizations. She has served on several ABA governing bodies, including its board of governors, multiple committees, and commissions throughout her legal career. Most notably, she is currently the chair of the Standing Committee on Meetings & Travel, the State Delegate for Florida, and a member of the Nominating Committee. Osman was the second female president of The Florida Bar, and has previously served as the president of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society, and the First Family Law American Inn of Court.

At Carlton Fields, Osman’s practice includes business litigation, matrimonial law, and mediation. She has significant experience representing clients in dissolution of marriage proceedings, resolving complex family law disputes, post-divorce modifications and enforcement proceedings, child custody and time-sharing disputes, equitable distribution of marital assets, negotiating and drafting pre- and postnuptial agreements, and paternity actions.

Osman is also a trained collaborative professional who works with teams of neutral mental health and financial experts to resolve family law cases out of court. She is a Florida Supreme Court certified civil mediator and a Florida Supreme Court certified family law mediator.
