Carlton Fields Continues Exponential Growth in Los Angeles, Welcomes Distinguished Trial Lawyer Jan Dodd and Real Estate Lawyer Scott D. Page

Los Angeles, CA Continuing its strategic growth in Los Angeles, California, Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that distinguished trial lawyer Jan Dodd and real estate attorney Scott D. Page have just joined the firm. These additions follow the hiring of six Los Angeles attorneys in the last two months, growing Carlton Fields’ Los Angeles office by almost 40%.

"Jan and Scott’s arrivals add further strength to our local and national litigation and real estate transaction capabilities,” said Mark Neubauer, Carlton Fields Los Angeles office managing shareholder.

He added: “We are delighted to welcome another leading, first-chair trial lawyer to our firm. Jan has a track record of success both in and out of the courtroom, with strong client relationships that have clear synergies with our existing Business Litigation and Mass Tort and Product Liability Practices. Scott will support the continued growth and development of our real estate practice in this key market. We are thrilled they joined.”

Dodd is a nationally recognized trial lawyer known for her courtroom representation of clients in high-stakes product liability, mass torts, and toxic exposure cases. In her more than 25-year career, she has tried lawsuits throughout the country and won jury verdicts in both state and federal courts. Clients often call upon her to enter a case as trial counsel shortly before trial. Whether the case involves a medical product, industrial equipment, or a consumer good, Dodd brings a trial-tested perspective to the factual story of each case, the legal theories, and the coordination of the defense strategy.

Equally at ease in the boardroom, Dodd routinely counsels clients on litigation portfolio assessment and risk mitigation. Ranked by Chambers USA for more than a decade, her advocacy skills also have been recognized repeatedly by the National Law Journal and American Lawyer. Dodd’s clients describe her as "a talented trial lawyer," "efficient and effective," and a "star products liability defense lawyer."

Dodd said, “The draw for me to join Carlton Fields was twofold: Roughly 50% of the firm are litigators including some of the leading diverse trial lawyers in the country. They are passionate trial advocates who I am excited to join. Additionally, I’ve worked with some of Carlton Fields’ litigators and know them to be both talented and tremendous legal minds. The opportunity to work for a national firm with Carlton Fields’ impressive litigation reputation was a major attraction. I’m happy to be here.”

Dodd joins Carlton Fields from Norton Rose Fulbright. She received her J.D. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law and her B.J. and B.A., with honors, from the University of Missouri.

Page is a member of the firm’s national Real Estate and Commercial Finance Practice, which recently earned first-tier national rankings in the U.S. News and World Report and Best Lawyers® Best Law Firms 2022 guide.
