Litigator Thomas M. Findley Joins Carlton Fields in Tallahassee

Tallahassee, Fla. – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Thomas M. Findley has joined the firm‘s Tallahassee office. He is a member of the firm’s White Collar Crime and Government Investigations Practice, which consists of lawyers with high-level experience in criminal and complex civil matters, more than 20 of whom are former assistant U.S. attorneys, assistant state attorneys, and federal and state public defenders.

Findley has more than 25 years’ experience handling white collar criminal cases, including complex allegations of health care fraud, bank fraud, corporate fraud, public corruption, criminal tax matters, and a variety of other matters.  He has also represented numerous clients accused of violations of the Federal and Florida False Claims Acts.

Before he began private practice, Findley served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) for the Major Crimes Division of the Middle District of Florida. He has tried more than 20 jury trials and handled more than 100 grand jury investigations.

Prior to serving as an AUSA, Findley was a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph Hatchett of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Findley has continued to serve the Eleventh Circuit through his membership on committees for the appointment of Federal Public Defender and Magistrate Selection in the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida.

Findley earned his J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law, and his B.S. from Washington University in St. Louis.
