Bill Sklar Appointed Treasurer of American College of Real Estate Lawyers

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Bill Sklar was appointed treasurer of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL). Effective January 1, 2024, he will serve a one-year term.

ACREL is a select national association of commercial real estate lawyers that aims to promote high standards of professional and ethical responsibility in the practice of real estate law by focusing on education, professional development, law reform, and legislative, administrative, and judicial initiatives across the industry. The organization's members consist of distinguished lawyers that have been elected to fellowship for their legal ability, experience, and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of real estate law.

In his practice, Sklar represents developers and lenders. He assists with planning, drafting, and the development of residential, commercial, and complex mixed-use condominiums and planned developments. Sklar also serves as regulatory counsel in compliance matters under numerous federal, state, and local statutes; regulations; and ordinances, including the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act, the Fair Housing Act, and the Florida Condominium and Homeowners Association acts. Additionally, he represents clients in real estate transactions and financing. He is board certified by the Florida Bar in real estate and condominium and planned development law, and by the Florida Supreme Court as a certified circuit and county court mediator.
