David Burke Inducted into Cleveland State University (CSU|LAW) Hall of Fame
Tampa, FL – David Burke has been selected for induction into the Cleveland State University (CSU|LAW) Hall of Fame.
A graduate of Cleveland State University (CSU|LAW), Burke was selected for his outstanding leadership and professional success. Created in 2017 as part of CSU|LAW’s 120th anniversary, inductees include alumni and community leaders and former faculty, deans, and staff who made significant contributions to the past, present, and future success and reputation of CSU|LAW.
Burke has an LL.M. in taxation from New York University. He focuses his practice on federal and state taxation planning and business planning; state and federal tax controversies, including tax audits and appeals before the Internal Revenue Service and the Florida Department of Revenue; and tax litigation in the U.S. Tax Court and other federal courts and Florida courts. He has extensive experience representing buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions, with emphasis in tax planning to reduce risks and create value. He also counsels and assists estate planning lawyers in wealth transfer planning for high net worth individuals.
Burke is board certified by the Florida Bar in Tax, chaired the firm’s tax practice for over 25 years, and was an executive director of the Florida Bar Tax Section for many years. He is also general counsel for Amalie Oil Company.
