Brett Henson Elected to Associated Builders and Contractors Florida Gulf Coast Chapter Board of Directors

TAMPA, FL – Carlton Fields shareholder Brett Henson has been elected to serve on the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Florida Gulf Coast chapter’s board of directors. Henson previously served on the organization’s Surfside Industry Task Force and participated in its NEXGEN leadership program.

ABC is a national association with 68 chapters, representing more than 23,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms. It serves as the merit shop construction industry’s voice with government and the media, advancing a philosophy of open competition and free enterprise where contracts are awarded based on merit. It supports this mission through advocacy, education and workforce development, industry resources, recognition programs, and business development tools.

Henson focuses his practice in the areas of commercial and construction litigation. He handles all types of construction disputes, including claims related to breach of contract, delay damages, workmanship and design defects, fidelity and surety bonds, and Florida’s construction lien law. Brett is board certified in construction law by the Florida Bar and is vice chair of the Standing Committee on Construction Law Certification, which is responsible for drafting and grading Florida’s annual construction law certification exam. In addition, he serves as a vice chair of the Construction Law Committee of the Florida Bar, which is the largest voluntary bar association of construction lawyers in Florida.
