Robert Freedman and Brett Henson Awarded Top Honors From Florida Bar RPPTL Section
TAMPA, FL – Carlton Fields’ Robert Freedman and Brett Henson each received awards from the Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law (RPPTL) Section at its 2026 Executive Council Meeting and Annual Convention in Ponte Vedra, Florida.
Freedman received the William S. Belcher Lifetime Professionalism Award, one of the section’s highest honors. The award recognizes an executive council member whose career reflects a lifetime of service to the section, the legal profession, and the public, while advancing the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. Freedman has been active in the RPPTL Section for more than 20 years, and is board certified in condominium and planned development law by the Florida Bar. He serves as co-chair of Carlton Fields’ Real Estate and Commercial Finance Practice and the Real Estate Industry Group.
Henson received the Rising Star Award, which recognizes section members whose contributions have made a meaningful impact on the section and who have distinguished themselves as emerging leaders within the organization. Henson is board certified in construction law by the Florida Bar and is vice chair of the Standing Committee on Construction Law Certification, which is responsible for drafting and grading Florida’s annual construction law certification exam. In addition, he serves as a vice chair of the Construction Law Committee.
