Amy Furness, John Hart Recognized as Power Leaders in Law by South Florida Business Journal

TAMPA, FL – Carlton Fields’ Amy Furness and John Hart were recognized in the South Florida Business Journal’s 2025 “Power Leaders in Law & Accounting” section, a key segment of the journal’s Power Leaders series that celebrates the region's most influential executives across core industries.

Furness is a trial lawyer who has dedicated her career to defending diverse clients, including both domestic and foreign corporations, in complex civil litigation, particularly product liability and commercial litigation. She defends product manufacturers in all forms of cases in the pharmaceutical, aviation, chemical, tobacco, and consumer product industries. Furness serves as co-office managing shareholder of the firm’s Miami office – a role she also held from 2015 to 2023 before taking a short sabbatical to serve as chair of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Hart is a seasoned litigator and trusted adviser with more than 40 years of experience. Throughout his distinguished career, he has focused on commercial real estate litigation, contract and business disputes, trust and estate matters, commercial leasing, property management, and distressed assets and loan workouts, serving high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, closely held businesses, and institutional clients alike. Since 2017, Hart has served as office managing shareholder of the firm’s West Palm Beach office.
