Kristen Murphy Rejoins Carlton Fields’ Health Care Practice

TAMPA, FL – Kristen Murphy has rejoined Carlton Fields’ Health Care Practice as senior counsel in the firm’s Tampa office. She was most recently an associate at Foley & Lardner LLP.

Murphy counsels hospitals and other health care providers on regulatory and transactional aspects of health care law, with an emphasis on Stark and anti-kickback laws, corporate governance best practices, and clinical research. Murphy drafts and negotiates various clinical research, employment, physician recruitment, professional services, and management services agreements.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kristen back to the firm,” said Tre Dixon, chair of the firm’s Health Care Practice. “Her health care and digital health experience, combined with her historical knowledge of the firm, will be of immediate value to our clients.”

Murphy also assists with negotiating deals for acquisitions and expansions and advises health care clients on corporate, contracts, health care, regulatory, and governance matters for such deals. She has particular experience in telemedicine and digital health, assisting clients with the development, launch, and expansion of compliant telehealth platforms and business models. Murphy also has corporate general experience representing businesses and nonprofit organizations on organizational and corporate governance matters.

“I’m excited to be back,” said Murphy. “Carlton Fields’ relationships with established health systems is enticing enough, but the firm’s culture is an equal pull. The firm prioritizes its clients, of course, but there is a level of mutual respect among colleagues that is second to none.”

Murphy obtained her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2016 and a B.S., cum laude, from the University of Florida in 2013.
