FLORHAM PARK, NJ – Carlton Fields has named Michael T. Hensley managing shareholder of the firm’s Florham Park office, succeeding Robert Novack. Hensley was also named co-chair of the firm’s national Business Litigation Practice, comprising more than 60 lawyers, joining Donald Kirk.
“Mike is a world-class litigator and has been a tremendous partner and role model to lawyers across the firm,” said Kirk. “I’m looking forward to the energy and ideas he will bring to his new role and am excited to work more closely with him as we continue to build the firm’s Business Litigation Practice. Mike’s expanded role reflects our national footprint and commitment to the most important legal market in the world — the New York City financial center.”
Hensley is a trial attorney with a practice focused on complex commercial, First Amendment, labor and employment, restrictive covenant, and professional malpractice matters. He focuses on high-exposure individual matters, national class actions, and multidistrict litigation, and routinely litigates on behalf of clients in complicated cases around the country. Hensley also leads and conducts internal investigations for corporations involving workplace conduct and serves as the outside general counsel for a number of midsize businesses.
“I am honored to step into these roles and ready to get to work,” said Hensley. “My focus will be on growing our already strong Florham Park office and nationally collaborate with a talented business litigation team, drive innovation, and strengthen our commitment to delivering exceptional legal services.”
The core of Hensley’s practice is trying cases before juries across the entire country. In addition to his reputation as a leading trial attorney, Hensley has also argued before multiple state appellate divisions and the U.S. Courts of Appeals.
