Overview
Jason Berkun advises clients on government enforcement, litigation, and regulatory matters involving state and federal securities laws. He has experience conducting legal research and drafting memoranda on complex securities laws issues and regulatory compliance matters. Jason also has experience analyzing the application of the federal securities and banking laws to blockchain entities, including wallet platforms, decentralized exchanges, and nodes.
During law school, Jason gained experience in government enforcement and litigation. He served as a legal intern with the Blockchain Association, where he researched federal securities laws, drafted memoranda, and helped prepare comment letters for an SEC rulemaking proposal. Jason expanded his experience while serving as a legal intern with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement, where he assisted in the investigation of publicly traded companies. He also served as a law clerk in Carlton Fields’ Financial Services Regulatory Practice.
