Overview

Andrew Craig may be one of the few lawyers to work on both ends of the United States. He grew up in a remote village in Alaska and worked all kinds of jobs: as a 911 operator, a jail guard, and as a roustabout in the oilfields on the North Slope. In 2014, he traded Alaska’s freezing cold for Florida’s humidity in order to attend college and then law school at the University of Florida.

After law school, Andrew served as general counsel of Pensacola Christian College, his alma mater, and counsel to its affiliated book publishing company, one of the largest publishers of textbooks for Christian educators. In that role, he negotiated and managed high-value contracts, advised on corporate governance and risk management strategies, and guided executives and the board of directors through sensitive, reputational, and regulatory challenges.

He then entered private practice at a well-known Florida defense firm, managing a large caseload involving breach of contract, business torts, deceptive and unfair trade practices claims, fraud, product liability, and insurance coverage disputes. He frequently took and defended depositions, conducted mediations, and presented motions in court. Andrew’s practice since joining Carlton Fields has further expanded to include banking litigation and club fee class actions.

As a former in-house counsel, Andrew takes a pragmatic, business-first approach to litigation — focused not only on winning cases but also protecting brands, managing exposure, and aligning legal strategy with broader organizational objectives. He has a special interest in religious liberty issues and helping religious institutions grow and solve their most difficult legal problems.

In addition to his practice, Andrew has also taught courses on advanced business law and evidence for several years as an adjunct professor at his alma mater.

A devoted member of the Campus Church in Pensacola, Andrew also enjoys target shooting, cooking, disc golfing, and spending time with his wife and four young children.
