Overview

Emily Karpen focuses on complex commercial disputes, insurance litigation, and related matters. She assists clients at various stages of litigation by drafting pleadings and motions, preparing legal research memoranda, supporting discovery, and contributing to overall case strategy.

Emily earned her J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where she developed a strong foundation in legal research and advocacy. She gained litigation experience through work with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office in the Business and Complex Litigation Division, where she played an instrumental role in co-drafting an opposition to class certification in a high-stakes case, leading to a favorable Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling.

Prior to joining the firm, Emily gained experience supporting litigation matters across business, class action, and insurance-related issues. She also engaged in public interest and community service work with UCLA's El Centro Legal Clinic and the American Civil Liberties Union.
