Three Real Estate Attorneys Join Carlton Fields
Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that its Real Estate and Commercial Finance Practice is growing with the addition of three attorneys in three office locations.
Jimmy Camilus (Orlando), Mackenzie W. Collins (Hartford), and Christopher W. Marple (Atlanta) are members of Carlton Fields’ Real Estate and Commercial Finance Practice group, which is nationally ranked in the U.S. News and World Report and Best Lawyers® Best Law Firms 2022 guide. Since February 2022, the firm has added six real estate attorneys. Carlton Fields’ real estate attorneys are deeply engaged in significant client matters — for example, most recently representing Arc Capital Partners in a multimillion-dollar commercial real estate transaction.
Camilus represents publicly traded and privately held lenders nationwide in commercial real estate financing transactions, with an emphasis on multifamily housing transactions under the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae loan programs. He handles matters involving originating, selling, and servicing loan transactions sold to secondary market investors. Additionally, he has experience assisting with the preparation of class action and multidistrict litigation cases.
Camilus received his J.D. and LL.M. in taxation from the University of Miami School of Law, where he held three clerkships, gaining experience in a variety of practice areas. He received his B.S. from Nova Southeastern University.
Collins represents institutional lenders, banks, real estate developers, and individual investors in all aspects of commercial real estate and finance transactions, including loan originations, multistate transactions, acquisition and permanent financing, construction loans, and syndicated and securitized loans. He has experience assisting clients in transactions involving office buildings, gas stations, apartment complexes, assisted-living facilities, industrial buildings, and other commercial projects. Additionally he has represented small businesses and nonprofits in corporate governance and transactions such as asset purchases, stock redemptions, and mergers. He has also represented clients before municipal zoning and planning boards, having worked on a range of land use projects including special permit applications, subdivision plan approvals, and zoning appeals.
Collins received his J.D., cum laude, from Roger Williams University School of Law, and his B.A. from Saint Anselm College.
Marple represents lenders, investors, owners, financial institutions, and other clients in commercial real estate financings involving acquisition, bridge, construction, permanent, mezzanine, and subordinate loans. He also has experience representing financial institution clients and other creditors in civil litigation matters, mediation, and settlement negotiations.
Marple received his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law, where he served as associate symposium editor of the University of Richmond Law Review, and he received his B.A. from Texas State University.
