Carlton Fields Elects 8 Attorneys to Shareholder

TAMPA, FL – Carlton Fields has elected eight attorneys as shareholders across a broad cross section of the firm’s practice and industry groups. The new shareholders are based in Atlanta, Florham Park, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, and Tampa.

Andrea Bonvicino (Florham Park) focuses her practice on business litigation. She counsels clients on commercial and business matters, employment matters, and professional malpractice matters. She advises clients as they navigate all aspects of litigation, including initial evaluation, discovery, trial preparation, and resolution. Bonvicino has extensive experience litigating complex single party, multiparty, and class actions in federal and state courts. Bonvicino earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.

Fiona Foley (Tampa) focuses her practice on construction litigation. She also has experience handling general liability, automobile liability, premises liability, trucking, medical malpractice, and a variety of other civil cases. Foley has experience in all stages of litigation, including pleading, discovery, motions, mediation, and strategy, and as second chair at trial. She earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Alon Lagstein (Los Angeles) represents owners, operators, tenants, landlords, borrowers, lenders, investors, and developers in commercial and residential real estate matters, with a focus on acquisition and disposition, leasing, financing, and joint ventures. He represents a wide range of clients, including high net worth individuals and family offices, startups, private equity firms, financial institutions, and project sponsors. Lagstein earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law.

Kristen Murphy (Tampa) represents hospitals, health systems, physician groups, and other healthcare providers in mergers and acquisitions and other complex healthcare transactions, including affiliations, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. Murphy drafts and negotiates a wide range of healthcare-related and commercial agreements and advises clients on regulatory considerations arising in transactions, including compliance with the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, state fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, and applicable licensing requirements. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Luigi Orengo, Jr. (Tampa) focuses his practice on bankruptcy, complex business litigation, judgment enforcement, and asset execution matters.  He represents large and mid-size financial institutions, other lenders, debt servicers, merchant cash advance providers, borrowers, other financial service providers, and directors and officers, both in and out of bankruptcy court.  Orengo’s experience includes all aspects of financial restructuring, fraudulent transfer actions, fraud claims, business divorces, bankruptcy appeals, appellate bonding, and judgment execution matters.  He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Howard University School of Law.

Logan Owens (Atlanta) is a trial lawyer who represents clients nationwide in high stakes matters that often exceed $100 million in exposure. Her experience includes representing Fortune 500 companies and spans a variety of litigation areas, including complex torts, product liability, premises liability, transportation, bad faith litigation, and business litigation. She also handles matters involving cybersecurity, government contracting, and construction. Owens earned her J.D. from Mercer University School of Law.

Thomas Scopelitis (New York) represents lenders in commercial real estate financing transactions, with an emphasis on multifamily housing transactions under the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae loan programs. He has significant experience with the full range of agency loan products, including Fannie Mae’s Delegated Underwriting and Servicing (DUS) product line and Freddie Mac’s Capital Markets Execution (CME) program. Scopelitis earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Samuel Spinner (Miami) is board certified in appellate practice by the Florida Bar and focuses on appeals and litigation support with an emphasis on catastrophic injury, product liability, premises liability, and insurance coverage litigation. Spinner has handled more than 70 appeals in all six Florida District Courts of Appeal and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Spinner also has experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions before and after trial, as well as attending trial in a supporting role to handle legal argument, charge conferences, and record preservation. Spinner earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and clerked for the Honorable F. Rand Wallis at Florida’s Fifth District Court of Appeal.
