Jay Koenigsberg Named Co-Office Managing Shareholder of Carlton Fields’ Miami Office

MIAMI, FL – Carlton Fields has named Jay Koenigsberg co-office managing shareholder of the firm’s Miami office. He takes over for Steven Brodie who has been in the role since 2014 and will be focusing full time on his practice and on the many charities that he currently serves on the board. Amy Furness remains co-office managing shareholder.

“I’m very grateful to Steve for his many years of outstanding leadership. His long-standing commitment to our employees, our clients, and the growth of this office has left a lasting impact. It’s been a true privilege to work alongside him,” said Furness. “This is a new chapter for our Miami office. Jay’s practical approach and deep experience will be a strong asset as we continue to serve our clients and grow the Miami office.”

Koenigsberg handles real estate transactions across the entire property life cycle — from purchase, acquisition, development, and debt and equity financing, to leasing, managing, and disposition. He has extensive experience in complex commercial real estate and finance transactions, representing developers, institutional lenders, and investors. His practice includes all aspects of commercial leasing across retail, office, mixed-use, and industrial sectors, as well as advising financial institutions and borrowers on construction lending, asset-based financing, loan restructuring, and workouts involving distressed real estate assets. Koenigsberg is board certified in real estate law by the Florida Bar. He joined Carlton Fields in 2017.

“Exceptional attorneys, a collaborative culture, and an unwavering dedication to client service are the bedrock principles that separate Carlton Fields from its peers. I’m excited to partner with Amy in leading an office of professionals who embody these values and share a strong commitment to the greater Miami community,” said Koenigsberg.

Carlton Fields opened its Miami office in 1997 and offers a full range of legal services to clients across a wide variety of practices and industries. In Miami, the firm’s lawyers handle matters involving litigation, class action defense, high-stakes appeals, white collar crime, insurance, and sophisticated business transactions. Its location in the gateway to Latin America is especially beneficial as the firm provides corporate counseling for domestic and international clients.
