Austin Jackson’s practice focuses on complex securities litigation, white collar criminal defense, and enforcement actions prompted by federal and state regulators. He has represented domestic and foreign companies, executive officers, and directors in connection with alleged violations of the securities laws, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, anti-money laundering, and antitrust laws.

Austin has handled matters involving the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), and various state attorneys general offices.

Experience

  • Represented CEO of microcap companies in a high-profile criminal case involving an alleged $300 million pump-and-dump.
  • Represented U.S. promoter in SEC and white collar criminal actions concerning an alleged $11 million securities fraud conspiracy in connection with cryptocurrencies and initial coin offerings (ICOs).
  • Represented CEO in an SEC receivership action following a $3 billion Ponzi scheme.
  • Represented domestic and foreign companies and their CEO in a civil enforcement action brought by the Maryland Securities Division for a $17 million securities fraud scheme in connection with real estate ventures in Costa Rica.
  • Represented CFO of aquaculture companies that were absorbed by a corporation traded on the London Stock Exchange and alleged, by shareholders, to have engaged in a $23 million securities fraud scheme.
