Overview

Stacey Sutton is an accomplished commercial litigator with more than 18 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.

Stacey is recognized as an innovative leader who uses a multifaceted approach to assist clients in the telecommunications and technology fields to combat fraud that threatens reputation, relationships, and resources. Stacey’s clients include national telecommunications companies, cable and satellie providers, and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs).

In addition to her unique experience in fraud prevention, Stacey advises and represents Fortune 500 clients in other significant state and federal litigation throughout the country, as well as in arbitration hearings, covering a range of commercial disputes. During her career, she has obtained more than 150 federal court victories for her clients.

Experience

  • Obtained multimillion-dollar judgments and permanent injunctions in 131 federal fraud prevention lawsuits in various jurisdictions for three major national telecommunications companies.
  • Obtained multimillion-dollar judgments and permanent injunctions in 15 federal fraud prevention lawsuits in various jurisdictions for a leading U.S. MVNO.
  • Drastically reduced imposter fraud targeting a major national satellite and programming provider through a combination of litigation and advice.
  • Created new federal law on behalf of a leading U.S. financial institution for a novel interpretation of removal law in relation to the Edge Act.
  • Prevailed on appeal to the Eleventh Circuit to have the jury verdict in a sexual harassment case vacated and district court’s denial of judgment as a matter of law reversed.
  • Successfully argued on appeal the leading case interpreting the governing Florida charter school statute.
