Carlton Fields Elects 7 Attorneys to Shareholder
TAMPA, FL – Carlton Fields has elected seven attorneys as shareholders across a broad cross section of the firm’s practice and industry groups. The new shareholders are based in Los Angeles, Miami, Florham Park, Washington, D.C., West Palm Beach, and Tampa.

Joan Archer (Los Angeles) is a seasoned trial attorney who has been litigating complex intellectual property and business disputes for more than 25 years. She has had significant experience counseling on the unique problems and issues companies face through her five-year stint as general counsel at a technology company. Joan’s clients view her as a trusted business and risk management adviser, counseling on a wide range of issues, including intellectual property portfolio strataegy, trade secret protection, noncompete agreements, internal risk management and compliance, complex technology agreements, licensing, marketing, as well as privacy issues and general corporate legal strategy. As a first-chair trial attorney, she has won numerous bet-the-company cases including complex intellectual property, breach of contract, covenant not to compete, and product liability matters. She uniquely has substantive experience with Canadian cross-border litigation and compliance strategies. Archer earned her J.D. from University of Kansas School of Law and her Ph.D. in jury behavior from the University of Kansas. She is licensed in Kansas and Missouri, and all work in California is supervised by a California licensed attorney.
James Czodli (Miami) focuses his practice on commercial litigation in both state and federal court. His practice areas include breach of contract litigation, labor and employment disputes, construction litigation, real estate litigation, federal class action defense, and commercial loan litigation. Czodli has both trial experience and extensive experience in all phases of litigation, including pre-suit negotiations, written discovery, fact and expert depositions, dispositive motions, trial preparation, trial, and briefing for appellate courts. He also has substantial experience in arbitration disputes before both JAMS and AAA. Czodli has represented domestic and international businesses, family offices, individuals, real estate developers, general contractors, subcontractors, international luxury manufacturers. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Miami School of Law.
Jorkeell Echeverria (Florham Park) represents corporate clients in state and federal court in commercial disputes, labor and employment matters, professional liability matters, environmental matters, large-scale multidistrict class action matters, and real estate disputes. His practice also includes cases involving the First Amendment, including freedom of speech, defamation, section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, and cybersecurity. Previously, Echeverria served as a law clerk to the Honorable Hector R. Velazquez of the Superior Court of New Jersey. He earned his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law.
Jason Gould (Washington, D.C.) is a veteran class action litigator with more than 25 years of experience representing businesses nationally in connection with pre-litigation, litigation, and regulatory disputes. He counsels clients on class action and other lawsuits, administrative investigations and market conduct examinations, enforcement actions, and matters involving regulatory compliance. He represents financial institutions and insurers in complex litigation and class action lawsuits, including major market conduct class actions, commercial contract litigation, and consumer fraud cases. In addition to litigation, Gould advises clients on regulatory compliance matters, litigation and regulatory risks, and litigation avoidance issues. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Tino Lisella (West Palm Beach) is a former FINRA enforcement director and former federal tax prosecutor. His practice focuses on securities enforcement, civil and criminal tax controversy, and white collar defense. Lisella represents individuals and entities in complex securities matters and government investigations, as well as regulatory investigations and enforcement matters. He has firsthand knowledge of the boots-on-the-ground strategies and priorities that white collar prosecutors and FINRA enforcement attorneys use to build their cases and the most effective strategies to defend against them. Before entering private practice, Lisella spent nearly a decade at the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division, and more than five years at FINRA. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law.
Scott Menger (Los Angeles) is a commercial litigator with substantial experience in both state and federal courts in individual and class action litigation. Menger is frequently retained by clients to handle litigation involving complex or technical facts and legal issues, leading to a broad practice that includes representing clients in matters involving antitrust, commercial disputes such as claims for breach of contract and business torts, employment litigation, and Proposition 65 defense. He handles matters at all stages of litigation, including conducting depositions, arguing motions, defending clients at trial, and drafting appellate briefs. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Loyola Law School.
Coy Stull (Tampa) is an intellectual property attorney with experience in all stages of federal court litigation. He provides strategic counseling to clients at all stages of the business cycle — from the formation of new ventures to the ongoing commercial operation of established businesses. Stull works with clients in a wide variety of technological areas, including software applications, blockchain, consumer products, industrial processes, nanomaterials, pharmaceutical compositions, methods of treatment, small molecules, natural products, medical diagnostic devices, and veterinary products. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from University of Miami School of Law and his B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Florida.
