Overview

Miguel Rodriguez is a litigator whose practice focuses on the insurance industry. He represents clients in matters involving insurance services and coverage issues. Miguel has experience defending insurance clients in first-party and third-party property litigation and advising clients in complex property coverage disputes. 

Miguel has represented and counseled clients in a wide array of other defense and coverage matters, including bad faith coverage and investigations, pre- and post-suit property insurance claims and litigation, fraud coverage and investigations, commercial and residential catastrophe claims (including commercial and residential windstorm, fire, and water damage coverage disputes), cyber fraud/cybersecurity coverage, excess bodily injury and UM/UIM disputes, commercial general liability disputes, and professional liability claims. Miguel also defends and counsels insurance clients in first- and third-party extra-contractual disputes, often securing dismissal of claims and lawsuits as a matter of law.

Prior to joining Carlton Fields, Miguel advised clients at a Miami law firm and served as a trial attorney with the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office, where he successfully defended numerous clients in all phases of litigation and at trial. Miguel also honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps prior to starting his legal career.
